Women in IT have their own methods. Here are mine.
I don’t wait until somebody would take me for a secretary. When I enter the room I say who I am and why I am here. It saves me disappointment and embarrassment for others who otherwise would ask me to bring them a coffee.
I don’t agree to do supportive roles, I actively participate at what I find interesting and meaningful.
I delegate work which stresses me, regardless of somebody actually put it into my job description.
I don’t do senseless things, I may openly confront and not do it or just not do it.
I try to only talk to people who know more than I or actively seek my knowledge.
I use AI a lot to polish and structure my thoughts. Thoughts are always my own. I use AI to explain my technology in a ground school level language and using associations from the world of nature and humans. I use AI to talk through experiences and ask it for advice as it comes to law, legal, taxes, investment and all other male things I have to do but have absolutely 0 pleasure doing.
My biggest interest working in tech is money. If I could I would just return back to singing, dancing, painting, creating and socialising with people who like these things to. Tech world of today is reminding my a calf war and rase of war ammunition. It’s a male world of competing on who has the largest p… or fastest car or biggest ego. Has nothing to do with the making the world a better place anymore.
